How this works
The calculator adds up everything a print costs: filament (with a waste allowance), electricity, printer wear, maintenance, overhead, and your time, plus a small reserve for failed prints. It then suggests a price that gives you your target margin. For the full method, read How to price 3D prints.
Pricing lots of products?
The calculator does one print at a time. Nozzlet Works saves every product, printer, and filament, and updates your costs when prices change.
Where do I find these numbers?
- Grams and print time: your slicer shows both after slicing.
- Power draw: most printers average roughly 80–130 watts while printing. See How much electricity does a 3D printer use?
- Electricity rate: check your power bill.
- Service life: a common starting point is 3,000–5,000 hours for a hobby-grade printer. Adjust as you learn.
