Settings is in the account menu (your name, top right). The main page shows everything at a glance; Edit settings changes the business details and rates, and each other part has its own page.
Business details
Your shop's name, country, province or state, time zone and currency (CAD or USD). Times everywhere in Works are shown in your shop's time zone.
Costing rates
Added to every print's cost (see How Works costs a print):
- Material waste allowance: added to the slicer's filament weight, e.g. 10%.
- Electricity: what you pay per kWh.
- Operating overhead: rent, software and other running costs, per print hour.
- Hands-on labour: per hour.
- Failed-print allowance: a percentage of the direct cost, for prints that fail.
Schedule
- Waking hours: jobs starting or finishing outside them are flagged.
- Changeover time between back-to-back jobs.
- Schedule ahead: how far ahead the schedule plans (e.g. 3 months).
Pricing
- Target gross margin: of the selling price before tax. Suggested prices reach it.
- Usual wholesale discount: off the retail price.
- Minimum job charge: per quote or order.
- Rush fee: for Quick job's Rush button.
The other pages
- Taxes: the sales taxes you charge and the purchase taxes you don't get back (see Taxes).
- Storage locations: shelves, dry boxes and dryers where you keep spools (optional).
- Payment methods: how customers pay you (see Customers and payment methods).
- Invoices and receipts: your logo (PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 5 MB), the numbering (an optional prefix and a starting number; numbers never go back), your address, phone and email as printed on them, your terms and notes, and your tax registration numbers (e.g. GST/HST 123456789 RT0001). Changes apply to ones issued from then on; issued ones never change.
